At CMY Counselling, I create a safe, confidential space where young people can talk openly about their thoughts and experiences. We welcome children and young people with diagnosed or suspected neurodiversity, people from all cultural backgrounds and communities such as LGBTQ+. Everyone is safe here.
CMY Counselling provides professional counselling and psychotherapy for children and teenagers facing the many pressures of modern life. Young people today often struggle with academic demands, social pressures and online influences. When difficulties build up, they can lead to problems such as anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, substance misuse, eating disorders and relationship difficulties. Research suggests that fewer than a third of young people experiencing psychological problems receive support, yet therapy can be highly effective in helping them cope.
What difficulties can we support with?
Although this list is not exhaustive, I have extensive experience working with children and young people experiencing the following:
– Anxiety and stress
– Parental separation and divorce
– Friendship issues
– Bullying
– Family and step family relationships
– Sibling rivalry
– Aggression and anger management
– Academic difficulties/exam pressure
– Fear of failure/perfectionism
– School challenges
– Bereavement and loss
– Self harm and suicidal thoughts
– Abuse and trauma
– Transition difficulties
– Domestic violence
– Effects of COVID-19
Through one-to-one sessions tailored to each individual’s needs, CMY Counselling helps children and teenagers develop confidence, emotional awareness and practical coping strategies. By supporting young people during difficult periods, therapy empowers them to build stronger foundations for their mental health and overall wellbeing.

Therapy (especially using the arts) is accessible to everyone including those that may be neurodiverse.
I specialise in working with children with autism, ADHD, and communication needs. I prefer to use art therapy with these individuals to take away some of the pressure of tradtional talking therapies. You do not need to be skilled in artmaking or have any previous experience. I will support you client to express yourself using creative resources and art therapy techniques.
We work in collaboration with parents and can offer parent sessions to explore issues that impact on their relationship with their child. Get in touch here
